CHAKANU comes from the name Chacana or Andean cross, symbol of ancient indigenous cultures of the Central Andes and pre-Inca cultures; which refers to the sun and the Southern Cross, and has a meaning of ladder between the man and the superior, to the highest.
The brand also refers to the word “Chacun” that means “Every one”, because the philosophy of it is to consider all the participants and stakeholders of the system.
Unique designs: the accessories apply traditional embroidery techniques, Andean textiles with modern materials in creative combinations that result in unique designs.
Artisanal materials: diverse range of materials from Andean cultures are combined, to include the straw shawl, andean belts, embroidery, alpaca, among others. These materials reflect the identity of local communities and traditions that have beign passed through generations for thousand years.
